When I first started trying to create beautiful pictures I remember the many times I used lighting to enhance the mood and quality of my work. Whether it was a portrait, a landscape, or a product shot, lighting played a crucial role in the resulting image. I always strived to achieve the right balance of ambient and backlight to create a sense of depth and contrast.

One of my favorite times to shoot was during mid-day when the light was high and harsh. I would use reflectors to bounce light onto my subject and create a more flattering look. Outdoor shoots were always a challenge, especially when dealing with overcast lighting. I would often use a diffuser to soften the light and create a more even exposure.

The quality of lighting was always at the forefront of my mind. I knew that the right lighting could make or break a shot. I would experiment with different techniques and angles until I found the perfect combination. It was a rewarding experience to see the final product and know that the lighting played a significant role in its creation.

Looking back, I realize how much I learned about the art of lighting. It was not just about illuminating a subject, but also about creating a mood and evoking emotions. I am grateful for the opportunities I had to work with different types of lighting and to experiment with new techniques. Lighting truly is one of the most important aspects of photography, and I will always appreciate its ability to transform an image.

As a photographer, I have worked with countless hairstylists over the years, and I can confidently say that professional hairstyling is incredibly important in the world of photography. Not only does it ensure that models and subjects look their best, but it also adds a level of longevity to the final product. When hair is professionally styled, it is less likely to fall flat or become frizzy over time, meaning that the photos will look just as good years down the line as they did on the day of the shoot.

One thing that sets professional hairstyling apart is the level of experience that comes with it. While anyone can curl their own hair or attempt a fancy updo, stylists who have been in the business for years have a wealth of knowledge and expertise that simply can't be matched by a novice. They know how to work with different hair types and textures, and they have a keen eye for what will look best on each individual. This level of skill and attention to detail is essential when it comes to creating truly great photos.

In addition to the practical benefits of professional hairstyling, there is also a significant emotional component to it. When you know that your hair looks amazing, it can give you a confidence boost that can be invaluable when you're in front of the camera. This can translate into more relaxed, natural-looking poses and expressions, which can make all the difference in the final product. So if you're considering a photoshoot, don't underestimate the importance of professional hairstyling - it's a small investment that can pay off in a big way. And trust me, stylists know exactly how to keep your hair curled all day long!

We get it, we get it - I’m a photographer! And I love exploring new locations for all my shoots. One of my favorite locations I ever came across was this tennis court. Why? Because I played tennis growing up so it was super nostalgic. I remember how excited I was when I first stumbled upon it during a location scouting trip. The court's bright green surface was a perfect contrast to the white lines and nets, making it an ideal backdrop for my shoot.

However, it wasn't just the court's colors that caught my attention. The open sky above the court provided ample natural light, which was perfect for capturing stunning photos. Of course, proper lighting at your location is essential, regardless of whether you're shooting indoors or outdoors. But the open sky provided a unique advantage that I couldn't pass up.

Before setting up my equipment, I made sure to confirm that I had permission to be there. While the tennis court was open to the public, I always made sure to double-check that I wasn't violating any rules or regulations. This allowed me to focus on my photography and capture some truly incredible shots.

Overall, shooting at a tennis court was an unforgettable experience. Between the bright colors, open sky, and proper lighting, it was the perfect location for my shoot. And by making sure I had permission to be there, I was able to work without worrying about any potential legal issues. I can't wait to find my next unique location and see what kind of photos I can capture there.

I have had my fair share of photoshoots where outfits played a crucial role in bringing the desired theme to life. But let’s get real. If we’re shooting at a tennis court then of course I want to do a classic, 1920’s tennis outfit vibe. For this photoshoot I decided the main fit would be a cozy sweater, pleated skirt, heels, and scrunched socks.

Styling the photoshoot was a task in itself, and I had to ensure that the was outfit perfectly complementing to the theme of the shoot. We started with the tennis outfit, and I knew that we had to focus on the textures of the outfit to make it stand out. The tennis skirt had a beautiful pleated design that added a touch of elegance to the outfit. We paired it with a simple white sweater and added some heels to the mix it up. The result was a sporty yet sophisticated look that was perfect for the shoot.

Next up was the cozy sweater, and I knew that we had to create a warm and inviting vibe for this outfit. We went for a neutral color sweater that had a slightly oversized fit. We paired it with a pleated skirt and some ankle boots to complete the look. The result was a cozy and comfortable outfit that was perfect for the vibe.

Overall, the key to successful photoshoot styling is to focus on the theme and textures of the outfits. By paying attention to these details, we were able to create a range of outfits that perfectly complemented the desired theme of the shoot.

Have an idea?

Go for it! Even if you’re not sure - you will still learn something!

I always looked for inspiration in unique places. One of my favorite places to find creative ideas is on Pinterest. I would spend hours scrolling (don’t worry - I limit my screen time these days) through countless images until something caught my eye.

One day, I stumbled upon a set of editorial photoshoots featuring tennis players in bright light. It immediately captured my attention, and I knew I had to create something similar. So, I did my research and analyzed the photoshoots, trying to understand how they achieved the effect.

I discovered that the photographer used a combination of natural light and artificial light to create a bright, almost surreal atmosphere. The tennis players were dressed in bright colors that contrasted with the green court, creating a visually stunning image.

With this newfound knowledge, I set out to create my own creative photoshoot featuring tennis players. I found a local tennis court and gathered a group of models who were willing to participate. I instructed them to wear bright colors and brought my own lighting equipment to create the perfect atmosphere.

As we began shooting, I felt a sense of excitement as I watched my vision come to life. The bright light illuminated the court and the models, creating a surreal and almost ethereal effect. The pictures turned out better than I could have ever imagined, and I was proud to have created something unique and beautiful.

In conclusion, inspiration can come from anywhere, even Pinterest. The editorial photoshoots featuring tennis players in bright light sparked my creativity, leading me to create my own stunning photoshoot. By doing research and analyzing the techniques used in those images, I was able to bring my vision to life and capture something truly special.
